As a partner of Moody + East Investment Partners, Barry offers financial planning and portfolio management to affluent families and individuals, as well as foundations and endowments. He also focuses on helping retirement plan sponsors establish and manage their company 401(k) plans and helping plan participants save for their own retirements. An Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, he has extensive knowledge in plan distributions, plan design and implementation, plan establishment and operation, and fiduciary issues.

Barry has over 28 years of experience in the financial services industry and was named to the Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list in 20201. He holds Series 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses, and Tennessee life and health insurance licenses.

Barry is a founding partner of Pinnacle Asset Management, which he helped create when Pinnacle Financial Partners was established in September 2000. He managed the asset management team and served on Pinnacle’s leadership team through 2007.

Previously, Barry served as vice president of the private client group at SunTrust Equitable Securities. Earlier in his career, he was an investment management consultant at Morgan Keegan, which was acquired by Raymond James during his time there. He attended the University of Maryland, while serving four years in the United States Air Force.

Barry has been active in many organizations in the community throughout his career. He is a past president of the Nashville City Club and the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly, and has served as chair of the Stars Charity Golf Classic and Swing for Sight Charity Golf Tournament.

Barry is a Nashville native and lives here with Amanda, his wife of more than 30 years. They have a daughter, Bradley, and a son, Patrick. In his free time, Barry enjoys golf, jogging, walking and playing pickleball with his family.
